Welcome to Zoos Global! This guide helps you navigate your first few weeks as an engineer or team member at our company.
Day 1: Setup and Accounts
Section titled “Day 1: Setup and Accounts”On your first day, your manager and IT support will help you set up your accounts. Ensure you have access to:
- Company Email & Slack: Our primary communication channels.
- GitHub Organization: Access to the
zoosglobalrepositories. - 1Password: Used for sharing secrets and credentials securely.
- AWS / Cloud Console: If required for your role.
Week 1: Familiarization
Section titled “Week 1: Familiarization”- Read the Overview and Development Setup guides.
- Set up your local development environment.
- Schedule 1-on-1s with your direct team members.
- Review the Coding Standards and Architecture documentation.
Week 2: First Contribution
Section titled “Week 2: First Contribution”- Walk through the Deployment guide.
- Pick a “Good First Issue” from the backlog.
- Submit a Pull Request and go through the review process.
- Deploy your change to the staging environment.
